The International Seminar of History of Biblical Exegesis. Spanish
Texts (SIHEB.TE) is a research department belonging to the
Pontifical University of Salamanca and integrated in the
International Centre of Linguistic Research (CILENGUA),
dependent on the San Millán Foundation. It is SIHEB.TE’s aim to
study those Spanish texts devoted to biblical exegesis throughout
history.

As its first goal, SIHEB.TE sets the edition of the Spanish
translation of Nicholas of Lyra’s Postilla litteralis. This version was
assigned by Alfonso of Guzmán to Alfonso of Algeciras and Álvaro
of Seville, who carried it out between 1421 and 1427.

In order to complete this task, a number of professors from several
European universities are currently working together as a
cross-disciplinary research team. Results from this conjoint effort
will be publish from 2008 onwards.

Likewise, SIHEB.TE supports periodic scientific meetings, attended
both by members of the research team and guest expertsScholars
with an interest in the subject will be welcome.
